The Scary Boat Ride

Jesus is so strong that those who trust him never have to be afraid.

What are some of the miracles that the disciples had seen Jesus do?

What happened on their boat ride to make them afraid?

Do you remember what Jesus said to the disciples after he calmed the storm?

Send Us to the Pigs! (Mark 5)

Because Jesus has come to free us from the power of the evil one, we should celebrate and tell our friends.

Questions:

In the story, where do we see Jesus showing his power?

Why do you think Jesus is able to be this powerful? What hard things do you need

Jesus’s power to help you with?

A Sick Woman and a Sad Dad (Mark 5)

Jesus showed his power over disease and death, and one day he will defeat them for all who believe.

Questions:

What foods were considered unclean by Jews? What other things made a person unclean?

What happened when the unclean, bleeding woman touched Jesus?

What are some reasons you might go to Jesus?

Memory Verse: MARK 5:36 “Do not fear, only believe.”

The Voice Is Silenced (Mark 6)

We need faith to believe Jesus wins—even when it looks like bad guys are winning.

Questions:
Who were some of the people named in Jesus’s family tree (or “genealogy”)?

Did those people always follow God perfectly?

If they were sinners, and Jesus came from their family, how could he be born without sin?

The Happy Meal That Kept on Going (Mark 6)

Jesus is the bread of life.

Questions:

Where have we seen God provide food in the Bible?

How much food was Jesus given to feed that many people? And what was he able to do with it that no one else could? Why?

A Walk on the Water (Matthew 14)

Because Jesus is the Son of God, he can save us when we cry out to him.

Why did Peter begin to sink when he was walking on the water?

What did Peter cry out as he sank? And what did Jesus do?

Will Jesus ever turn us away when we come to him for help and salvation?

A Dogged Faith (Mark 7)

Jesus saves anyone who believes in him.

Questions:

What was wrong with the woman’s daughter?

How do you think this mother felt? Whom did she go to for help?

What are some times we might go to Jesus for help?
