Jesus is the King of kings—but not the king God’s people expected.

Who were God’s people waiting for from King David’s line?What did they expect this king to do? Was Jesus the King they were waiting for?
How was he different than they expected?
When Jesus came to Jerusalem, did everyone recognize he was the promised King?

What was he talking about? How is Jesus like the temple? How is he better than the temple?

We cannot love Jesus too much.
Questions:
Who are some people that you think of when you think of the Bible?Who is the surprising woman that Jesus said would be remembered wherever the gospel is told? What did she do?
Can you ever love Jesus too much? Can you praise him too loudly? Can you follow him too closely?
Memory Verse: Jude 21 “Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.”

Every time we take the bread and cup of the Lord’s Supper, we celebrate that Jesus died for our sins.

What were special things about the Passover meal that Jesus had with his disciples?
What was going to happen the very next day?What does Jesus do when Christians eat the bread and drink the cup of the Lord’s Supper?

Jesus was betrayed and denied by his friends and handed over to his enemies.

Why did the Pharisees want to kill Jesus? Why did Judas betray him?
Did anyone stay with Jesus when he was betrayed by Judas and arrested?
What did his closest friends do? How do you think he felt?
