Soaring to New Heights
A 3-year generosity initiative to raise $1,100,000 to begin building our new church facility.
We are on a journey of faith together with the firm conviction that in order for our church to make its full impact, we need to grow in both our faith and our giving. We face a significant challenge to expand our Kingdom impact, but we are stepping out in faith and trusting that God will provide a path forward.
We are now 17 months into our campaign.
Below are the metrics as of
September 30, 2024:

An educational wing with classrooms and meeting space
A welcoming common area and kitchen for meals and special events
A nursery and playground
A total of 14 acres, which allows space for outdoor activities and future expansion
Administrative offices for staff
A large paved parking lot with overflow area
Frequently Asked Questions

The short answer is, as much as possible! The more money we raise, the less we borrow, which saves a substantial amount of interest expense. The goal of this campaign is $1.1 million and is based on a financial analysis of our giving over a recent three year period.
Due to inflation, construction costs have risen considerably each year. If these increases continue at the same rate, additional funds will be needed to start the project. We will need to meet or exceed our campaign goal to be able to contribute the necessary funds to obtain a construction loan. Before converting to a mortgage, the existing church building on Loudoun Street would be sold and the proceeds would pay down the loan balance.
-
The success of the campaign will drive the timeline substantially - more cash raised could mean the project starts earlier than projected. Towards the end of the generosity campaign, the church leadership will assess the current construction cost estimates and complete applications with local lenders to obtain financing approval. Commercial construction project timelines vary considerably depending on all the variables such as degree of blasting required, weather during the building project, availability of supplies, etc. Typically, a commercial building can be completed in 12 to 18 months.

No. Our first priority is supporting our current ministries with our tithes. Soaring to New Heights is over-and-above giving which will look different for every person. The goal of the campaign is 100% participation with equal sacrifice, not equal giving. It may mean taking another step towards generosity, or finding a way to prioritize our personal expenses so we can participate in the growth of God’s kingdom.

You will have three years to fulfill your commitment. If you don’t believe you can contribute over-and-above, you are still a vital part of this ministry and there are so many ways to support God’s work. Praying daily, providing encouragement, talking to others, or even sharing what God has been doing in your life through our church is invaluable. We just ask you to pray and ask God how He can use you. You might even be surprised to discover a resource you didn’t know you had that can be directed towards this campaign.
Are You Ready to Take a STEP?
-
Would you prayerfully consider what God might be calling you to give up during the next three years to allow you to give more to His Kingdom through the work of Eagle Heights Presbyterian Church?
-
Will you join us by trusting God in a way we have never done before? We pray that every person at Eagle Heights will unite in faith around this initiative.
-
We can’t do this with a few givers. We can’t even do this with half of our congregation. We need everyone in our church to join together in unity as we together trust God to make Soaring to New Heights a reality.
-
This is a spiritual journey even more than it is a financial one. Please join us in praying fervently for God’s wisdom and direction every step of the way.
